Hello and welcome!
A socially distanced virtual hug to all of you joining us on our journey.
I thought my first post should be a bit about me and how this little business came to be.
So, I’m Elaine, 60 years young , living and working in this Fine City with my close family. I have a weakness for Punk rock and Gin and am trying to pass on my knowledge about all things sustainable. I was raised by strong, Norfolk women who understood the importance of buying locally and seasonally and preserving what we have around us.
Having spent the last 30 years working in all areas of hospitality, I had developed a passion for protecting the environment and bringing the principles of being plastic free, palm oil free etc into the hospitality environment. Niggling away in the back of my mind was a dissatisfaction with the shopping experience when you are trying to live more sustainably. Eco stores seemed to be largely limited to food and were often dark spaces which were not particularly welcoming, especially to someone who might be looking to make those first changes. If you went online, invariably you would have to visit 3 or 4 different places, and putting those extra vehicles on the road was not something I wanted to do.
I found myself starting to think about how I would do it and the idea for our store began to grow.
When fate kindly gave us the opportunity to rent a space we jumped at it and so the adventure begins. Its taken a lot of hard work to get it to where we are now and we will continually look to improve. We aim to be a one stop shop for all aspects of your daily life. We are constantly learning and growing and are always happy to hear about what products you would like stocked. We support lots of local makers by providing them with space to sell their product too.
So why not have a browse, or pop in and have a chat.
Look forward to getting to know you!
